AACS Early Learning Center

"Where children learn to play and play to learn!"

The AACS ELC is a 5 Star public preschool that is a Title I funded program.
This preschool program is designed to meet the unique needs of young children between the ages of three and six. Based upon knowledge of growth and development, teachers will select learning materials, design classroom space and organize schedules in order to best meet the individual needs of the children in each session. In keeping with the philosophy and goals of this program, selection of materials, equipment and activities shall be based on their developmental appropriateness (age appropriateness and individual appropriateness).

Assessment of each child's progress will be achieved through information shared by parents and data gathered by the teachers through observation and interaction. Assessment tools used for documentation of the child's development will be a combination of the Creative Curriculum Developmental Continuum and performance notations written by the staff. All this information will be in a formally written Progress Report and shared with each child's parent/guardian.
