Adult Education Pathways

The Adult Education Block Grant (AEBG) appropriates funds through regional consortia consisting of community college districts, school districts and county offices of education to implement regional plans to better serve the needs of adults. Priority areas for AEBG include:

Basic skills, high school equivalency/diploma
Citizenship, ESL
Workforce entry or reentry, including explicit ability for older adults to access these programs
Adult programs, including older adult access, that are “primarily designed to develop knowledge and skills to assist elementary and secondary school children to succeed academically in school” (includes child development for elementary and secondary school children)
Adults with disabilities programs
Short term career technical education
Pre-apprenticeship programs/activities
