Affinity Recordings

Affinity Recordings was founded by in mid 2011 by me, Daniel Zabolotny. Since then, I’ve always made it a point to do more than just push buttons idly. No two bands I’ve worked with sound exactly the same because I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach— I find the mix that best fits the sound. I’m not afraid to try new things with each mix, whether it’s a different song arrangement, a different vocal approach, or a different guitar tone.

When it comes to tracking, I take a very hands-on approach, helping musicians lay down their ideas and working in new ideas as well. Whether it’s something as simple as adding a small guitar or vocal overlay, or something more complex like rearranging a song, I always try to make bands achieve their maximum potential.

The same goes for mixing material recorded elsewhere— I always aim to get the best possible sound out of what I receive. Each mix gets built up with the same amount of care that I give my own recordings. Masters are done in a very careful manner as well, making sure that your material retains its unique dynamics while still getting the punch and loudness that is expected from a modern master.
