Allied Wireless by T-Wire serves Alabama Veterans by providing free and discounted cell phones and monthly talk and text service through the federal Lifeline Assistance program. To qualify, Veterans must meet federal income limits or qualify for one of several social service programs such as Veterans or Survivor's Pension, COLA, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or SNAP. In Alabama, thousands of Veterans are eligible to receive assistance, but very few are enrolled in the program--many do not know it exists. Home phone service is also available. Service must be re-certified every 12 months.
