The Jarchow-Schroeder American Legion Post 61 became a charter on March 3rd, 1927 in North Kansas City, MO. The post was named after Clayton F. Jarchow and Frank W. Schroeder with Harry E. Richey being the posts first Commander.
The cannon seen in front of Post 61 is a 1.55mm howitzer which was purchased thanks to the efforts of Jerry Litton, a Congressman for the 5th District of Missouri. Several member then drove a truck that was donated to bring the cannon home to its current location on May 23rd, 1973. This cannon was used in World War II and the Korean War.
