Anderson Valley Junior Senior High School, through implementation of Common Core Standards, project-based instruction and a common academic language, graduates students ready for college and career. The leadership team and instructional staff employ a process for systematic use of student performance data to measure the effects of school programs and services, to guide staff development and to modify instruction for learners identified as low-achieving. Utilizing school wide AVID strategies, staff is able to improve the performance of English Learners and eliminate the gap between the highest and lowest achieving students. The Senior Seminar course requirement includes a robust Senior Project, Service Learning, Job Shadowing and other college and career preparation activities, not only increases the rigor of the Senior year but also graduates students ready for their next chapter in life.

Anderson Valley Junior Senior High School creates and sustains a safe and effective school culture using Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports and Restorative Justice practices. The school offers a wide range of afterschool enrichment programs, study groups and a competitive sports program. Fall of 2014, all six sports teams received Scholastic Athlete Awards and the three varsity teams were number one in the league.

Anderson Valley Junior Senior High School offers a full comprehensive curriculum. Career Pathways include Agriculture, Art Media and Entertainment, and Construction. AP and honors course offerings include AP US History, Economics, Government, English, Calculus and Physics. The science and math departments offer a new STEM curriculum focused on students designing and interpreting science experiments and programming using the LOGO language. The Boonville Space Program conducts launches up to 60,000 feet to explore the effects of radiation with a variety of experiments.
