More about APEX at Wooster

APEX takes advising and experiential learning to new heights by integrating six operations to one central location in the Gault Library. APEX uses an integrated team of experienced advisors; offers one-on-one advising sessions, workshops, and special events; and promotes shared responsibility between students and advisors.

Academic Advising
Academic Advising begins during your summer ARCH session where your will be introduced to Wooster's comprehensive advising program. You will work with a team consisting of a faculty member, staff mentor, and a current student where you will discuss your personalized educational plan and register for your first semester classes. Academic Advising continues in your First Year Seminar where your faculty member will help you make sense of the educational opportunities available at Wooster. Finally, when you declare your major, a faculty member within your discipline will then become your academic advisor. Academic Advising is supported by the Associate Dean in APEX.

Career Planning
Career Planning engages motivated students and supports graduates by providing the guidance and the resources needed to integrate their unique backgrounds, liberal arts education, and experiences into meaningful career paths.

Entrepreneurship
The Entrepreneurship office helps students develop entrepreneurial skills and knowledge within the liberal arts academic tradition. Our goal is to create an entrepreneur network on campus and connect it with the entrepreneur ecosystem off campus.

Experiential Learning
The Experiential Learning office engages students in a variety of learning environments beyond the classroom. Experiential learning is grounded in the ideal of and includes activities such as: shadowing professional experts, field experiences, collaborative research, entrepreneurship activities, and internships. For more complete information please see the Experiential Learning Guidebook.

Learning Center
The Learning Center offers individualized tutoring sessions for Wooster students seeking assistance with study strategies or organizational or time management issues.

Registrar
The primary mission of the Registrar's Office is to provide effective registration and record-keeping services for degree seeking students at the college, and efficient support systems for the faculty and administrative units of the college, within the framework of college and federal guidelines.

Support Centers
In addition to the professionals who are located in APEX, several other support centers, located elsewhere on campus, are available to help you succeed in your academic, personal, and professional development. For introductory level math courses, the Math Center staff can assist your understanding of concepts, examples, and homework problems. The Writing Center helps students develop their reading and writing skills by encouraging them to think critically about the processes involved in both.
