Avalon offers anti-aging and weight loss services in the Southcoast area as part of our overall Wellness Program. These services compliment our aesthetics procedures to help create a more youthful appearance. All treatments and procedures are administered by medical professionals.


Meet the Staff

Irving Restituyo, MD, Dr. Restituyo is a graduate of the UNPHU Medical School in the Dominican Republic and completed his residency at the SUNY Downstate NY Hospital. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Medical Directors Society. He is the currently the medical director for Avalon Medical Spa as well as Southcoast Geriatric Associates.

He brings with him a long desire to provide aesthetic services and has worked with nationally known experts in the field.

William Thornson, PA-C, MHA, has over 26 years experience as a Physician Assistant in multiple specialties and over 37 years in the medical field. He attended the USAF Physician Assistants Program and received his degree from the University of Oklahoma. He has a master’s degree in Health Administration from Chapman University in Orange, California. His major areas of interest are injectables, hormone therapy, anti-aging, acne, cryotherapy and laser treatment. He serves as the Practice Administrator.

Flavia Thornson, RN, Lead Medical Aesthetic Consultant, a native of Brazil, has over 13 years experience as a Registered Nurse. She graduated from the BCC RN program in 1998 and has extensive experience in nutrition, exercise, weight loss and cosmetic procedures. Her major areas of interest are injectables, weight management, anti-aging and laser treatments. Flavia is a Lead Medical Aesthetics Consultant.

Sylvia Goncalo, RN, Lead Medical Aesthetic Consultant, has over 25 years experience as a Registered Nurse. Sylvia received her RN from BCC. A Certified Personal Trainer, her major areas of interest are weight loss, anti-aging, laser treatments, chemical peels, microdermabrasion as well as injectables. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer.

All staff has received extensive training throughout the country and has several years of experience providing aesthetic services.
