Ballet Northeast

Ballet Northeast was established in 1984 as the performing company in residence at the Degnan Ballet Center by Peter and Kristin Degnan, Rudolf Schleich and George Babcock. The Degnan’s served as co-artistic directors, until Peter’s death in 1999 when Kristin assumed sole artistic directorship.

For over a quarter of a century, the Company has developed an impressive repertoire of classical ballets while also mounting local premieres of original works by prominent choreographers.

Training is conducted from the classical tradition of Russia’s Kirov Ballet with the goal of cultivating healthy self-esteem and personal and artistic maturity. The primary instructors of the Degnan Ballet Center are members of the Artistic Staff of Ballet Northeast.
