In 2002 the original Hollywood Playhouse, was transformed by a state-of-the-art face-lift; orchestrated at the hands of owner John Lyons. Without compromising the Spanish Colonial architecture of this historic space, Avalon was born has grown into of the the most prestigious venues for live performances and events. Avalon has been home to the Beatles' first west coast performance and first broadcast of the American Music Awards. The list of performers is legendary: Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Madonna, Jerry Lewis, James Brown, Frank Sinatra to current entertainers such as Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, and the Black Eyed Peas to name a few.
