Barrel-X/UBRA-Membership information:

Barrel-X Membership-$15/single or $25/family (up to 4)
Must be a member to be eligible for BXA awards

UBRA Membership-$50/open, $30/youth (17 & under), $30/futurity (horses 5 & under), $20 pee wee
Must be a member to be eligible for UBRA awards

Practice Nights-$5/horse

You do NOT need to be a member to run at any of the sanctioned jackpots or to ride at the practices.

There are some funs things in the works for the finals which will be held Saturday, August 18th weather permitting. The location will be decided on at a later date. We are hoping to gather door prizes, possibly silent auction items, awards that will be voted on by each member, and some other fun awards. We would also like to possibly have a “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is” men’s only barrel race for fathers, brothers, boyfriends, and husbands to prove that men can barrel race too. Rider must enter on their wife’s, girlfriend’s, sister’s, or daughter’s horse. Fastest time wins! 100% payback! So let me know if there is any interest. :)

There will be a potluck dinner to follow the barrel race. We would also like to have a short meeting during the dinner to go over the year and what everyone would like to see stay the same or changed for next year.

We are considering having the awards awarded immediately after the dinner. We would also like to see people stay and camp over that night after the barrel race. :)

The UBRA sanctioned runs are the only runs that will count towards the series awards at the end of the year. You do not have to be a UBRA member to run at these runs but to qualify for UBRA awards you do need to be a UBRA member. Also to qualify for the Barrel-X Assocation awards you need to be a BXA member. You do not have to be a member of the UBRA to qualify for BXA awards. All runs will include two open and youth runs, one futurity side-pot, and one pole run. If there is enough interest there will be one pee wee run as well.

The practices do not count towards awards and there will be no payout at these runs. The practices are strictly dates set aside at each arena for us to get together as a group to help each other on the pattern. The cost is only $5 per horse per night. You can go through the pattern as many times as you wish. Practice nights will be fairly informal. All money from the practice nights will go into the awards fund. Practice nights are a way for us to work on the barrels in arenas other than at home without having to pay a ton for exhibitions and entry fees. It is also a way for us to get to know one another and help each other out. Feel free to bring as many horses and friends as you want. Let’s just have a good time! (membership not required)
