Bay-Area School of Dance Arts

BSDA was founded in 1983, under the artistic direction of Teresa Paleveda-Oscher. BSDA has established itself as one of Tampa Bay's premier dance studios, by providing experienced and highly qualified teachers who offer the most up-to-date technique and choreography available. BSDA strives to ensure a fun family atmosphere, while instilling the fundamentals of the arts and life skills in a professional environment. We not only provide the technical skills to pursue a professional career in dance, but we try to provide our students with life skills such as promptness, discipline, confidence, self-esteem, and respect for one's-self and others. These are life long assets that will help them succeed in any career. Being able to see each and every student grow and achieve their goals as individuals is far more important to us than winning a trophy. We believe in a healthy development and well-being of our students.

BSDA has two locations, one location in Brandon and one in South Tampa. The Brandon School of Dance Arts, located at 2011 Parsons Avenue, Seffner FL 33584 has over 10,000 square feet with four large dance studios. The Bay-Area School of Dance Arts, located at 4251 Henderson Boulevard, Tampa FL 33629 has over 5000 square feet with three large dance studios. All of our studios have viewing areas, marley floors, and high quality sound systems.

BSDA has some of the areas most talented dance instructors. Many of our teachers have degrees in Dance and all our instructors are experienced, certified, and professional. Encore!, Starlets!, and Sparklerets! are the performing teams representing BSDA. These teams are comprised of some of our most serious and committed dancers. Encore! team members range in age from 9 - 18 years of age. Starlets, our Junior team are students from the ages of 7 through 9 years old. Sparklerets! are 5 through 8 year olds. Auditions for Encore! are held annually at the end of the year for returning students and in August for new students. Encore!, Starlets! and Sparklerets! are competitive teams as well. Along with competiting these outstanding dancers showcase their talents in several local performances and have also been selected to perform at Disney World and Universal Studios. Last year these talented young dancers were featured in a half-time show for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. These award-winning dance teams have won top honors at various regional competitions.
