Bayer Neighborhood Park & Gardens

PUBLIC ART IN THE PARK
Artist Mario Uribe was commissioned by the Arts in Public Places Committee to create and install a mural on three sides of the community pavilion. Uribe worked in conjunction with artist Daniel Doughty on the mural, which is titled "Harmony" and features iconic views of Bayer Farm on the east and west walls. The walls are connected by twelve circles decorated with traditional folk art from cultures represented in Bayer Farm and the surrounding neighborhoods. Members of the community also participated in the mural painting.

PARK DEVELOPMENT
The park property was acquired in 2007, and the concept for Bayer Neighborhood Park & Gardens was created through a series of community meetings held in 2009.

The Master Plan was further amended by City Council in 2013. The park was designed by Royston Hanamoto Alley & Abey (RHAA) of Mill Valley, California. Deide Construction of Lodi, California constructed the park. The total cost to acquire land, design and construct the park will be $13.3 million.

The Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation & Open Space District provided a grant for land acquisition for the Bayer Park property.
The State of California provided a grant for development of the park.
