Berkeley Middle College Titans

We provide a personalized smaller learning community for students who want to accelerate toward fulfillment of their career plans in a non-traditional environment. Located on the Berkeley Campus of Trident Technical College, our middle college magnet high school can serve up to 50 juniors and 50-60 seniors from the district’s seven comprehensive high schools. The partnership blends high school and college courses to provide students with rigorous academics, guidance and support, career information, access to technology, community mentors, and other resources essential for student success.

Our broad goals for the middle college high school, approved by the State Board of Education as a stand-alone diploma granting school, are to create a more pervasive college-going culture through:

•Increasing high school graduation rates and reducing dropout rates by providing a school-wide support system and an individualized academic plan that challenges each student to succeed;
•Improving academic performance by providing a non-traditional high school structure and environment which allows student access to greater educational opportunities; and
• Increasing collegiate access by providing a seamless transition from high school to college.
