Boston University Stars Summer Research Program

The Summer Training as Research Scholars (STaRS) Program, a grant-funded initiative through the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the NIH, is designed to promote access to graduate education for groups traditionally underrepresented in the biomedical sciences. The program has served over 40 students during its three year duration, averaging 15 students each summer for an advanced 10-week summer research experience. Past trainees have gone on to gain admission to highly competitive graduate programs and medical schools throughout the country.
