The Boylston Fire Department is a combination career/paid on-call department that provides fire protection and emergency medical services to the community. The department has a full time fire chief and two full time fire officers who are on duty from 6:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. The department also has several dedicated, on-call firefighters, many who are also emergency medical technicians, who protect the community nights and weekends.
The Boylston Fire Department operates out of a single fire station located at 599 Main Street. The Boylston Fire Department responds to several hundred calls for emergency service every year ranging from medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, structure fires, vehicle fires, brush fires and other alarms. The department operates two basic life support ambulances, two engine companies, one ladder company, one tanker, one specialized rescue vehicle, two brush fire apparatus, one marine unit and two command vehicles.
The department also provides inspection services, plan review, fire prevention and education programs along with community CPR and First Aid classes. Fire department personnel are available to assist residents with placement and operation of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
