After Pastor Doug Winne resigned from another church in Lititz, Pennsylvania, several people expressed interest in seeing Doug remain in the Lancaster area as their pastor. That group soon grew in both number and organization and in September 2010 began meeting for Sunday afternoon services. On October 31st of that year "the group" voted to legally incorporate as Burning Hearts Community Church with Doug Winne as the teaching/lead pastor. Initially the church met in the new Manheim Township Public Library but in February of 2011 it moved to the larger space of the Nitrauer Elementary School. Sunday school classes also began with that change in location. Currently around one hundred people are regularly attending the church.
