BYU Refugee Empowerment Club

The BYU Refugee Empowerment Club was formed by a group of students in 2016 in response to the global refugee crisis and Church leaders’ call to action. Our purpose is to educate BYU students about refugee issues and policies, unite the collective efforts of University clubs and individuals for refugees, and teach students how to effectively serve and advocate for refugees.

Here are 4 important things to know about the club:

1. Club activities are scheduled every other Wednesday at 7 PM and usually occur in the Kennedy Center, 238 HRCB. Activities typically involve things like guest speakers, tips on how to get involved in refugee issues, or opportunities to learn more about the refugee crisis and the individual experiences of refugees. 2. Every Tuesday we send out an email to club members with upcoming club activities, community events, and special opportunities to be involved and serve refugees.
