The Cal Poly English graduate program is a two year, 48-credit, literature-based program. The program focuses on American and British literature, composition theory, literary theory, and linguistics. While attending Cal Poly and taking classes, students have the opportunity to work in the University Writing Center, attend conferences, and teach undergraduate composition in their second year of study. The program culminates in a comprehensive exam that requires students to write persuasively about texts from the extensive MA reading list.
