Dallas’ First No-Tipping Fine Dining Restaurant
Canary By Gorji, is a small 8-table restaurant in Dallas(Addison), TX. It has been specializing in chef-owner Gorji’s signature New Mediterranean Cuisine as well as Steak and Seafood for 14 years.
Critics have called his unique fare Mediterranean with Texas Twists. He is back-to-back champion of the famed Texas Steak Cook-Off in Hico, TX 2004/2005. The menu includes Award-winning Steaks, Texas Wild Boar Tenderloin, Lamb T-Bone and Prime Bone-In Pork Chop in a changing menu including Duck Breast with Black Plums, Eggplant Gorgonzola and creative seafood dishes like Poached Trout with Yogurt and Elephant Garlic.
Chef Gorji prepares his signature fare five nights a week, Tuesday through Saturday. The emphasis is on food and dining. There are no televisions, they cannot accommodate young children and do not rush you through your meal to turn tables.
The curated boutique wine list includes offerings from Turkey, Israel, Lebanon, Spain and France as well as domestics.
Canary By Gorji became Dallas’ first no-tipping fine dining restaurant in 2016.
Chef Gorji has a debut cookbook Zing! By Gorji featuring his signature “New Mediterranean” cuisine. He also has a line of Gorji Gourmet Sauces for home cooks. They include Pomegranate Vinaigrette, Dipping Oil/ Marinade and three Arrabiata Diavolo, Puttanesca and Pomodoro. All five sauces have won a total of 15 awards in blind judgings.
