Carlos has been engaged in in arts and construction since his teenage years. During those years in the summers he would work as a laborer for a construction company. His formal architectural studies were done at Tuskegee University, Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and he holds a Bachelor of Management degree from DeVry University.
For over 20 years he has worked for architectural firms around the country in many capacities from intern architect, project manager, designer and construction administrator. He has a varied and successful career in the field of design and construction. His projects scopes have ranged from residential design/development, casinos, higher education and for the past 7 years’ healthcare. He has been involved in projects with construction budgets as upward $900 million dollars. Some of his notable accomplished project and involvements were designer of The Johnsons Residence a 22,000 square foot home, project architect for St. Elizabeth Hospital Boardman Campus Youngstown, Ohio, Project Architect for St. Ann’s Hospital Campus Expansion Columbus Ohio, Project Architect for Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), Construction Administrator Ohio State University Project One Cancer Center Tower, and Project Coordinator health Care Division for Moody Nolan Inc. a renowned award winning architectural firm. Carlos is also a licensed contractor in the State of Ohio. He is LEED accredited, a member of the PMI (Project Management Institute) the AIA (American Institute of Architects) and AIBD (American Institute of Building Design.) His dedication in the health care and business acumen drove him to found USMERC, (U.S. Medical Equipment Recovery Corporation) and Guardians Circle of Care a durable medical equipment company, that specializes in mobility, accessibility and ADA home modifications for Veterans and Medicaid recipients.
