Cassel is a town in Marathon County, Wisconsin, United States. It is part of the Wausau, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 911 at the 2010 census.GeographyAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 33.0 square miles (85.5 km²), of which 33.0 square miles (85.5 km²) is land and 0.03% is water.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 847 people, 271 households, and 223 families residing in the town. The population density was 25.6 people per square mile (9.9/km²). There were 286 housing units at an average density of 8.7 per square mile (3.3/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 97.40% White, 0.12% African American, 1.77% Asian, and 0.71% from two or more races.
