At Catriona Cellars, we believe great wine is a fine balance of so many factors, including grapes, sunlight, wine and the perfect timing in which each of those things occur and are brought into the wine-making process. We also believe that wine is inspiration, held together by love. We especially relish the creation of blends, where two or more grape varietals are brought together to create an ultimate marriage and mysterious alchemy of a signature, unique ‘best of both worlds” wine blend — a Catriona Cellars wine.

“Wines that are blended from different varietals are exciting and flavor components change with the slightest percent of adding an assortment of wine to any batch,” noted Catriona Cellars co-owner Woody Woodworth. “Premium blended wines will be the winery’s primary focus and signature wines will develop from varietals such as Malbec, Syrah, Tempranillo and Bordeaux styles. The winery will produce many varietals including Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, various Blush and Fruit wines and a Port desert-style wine. Demand can be met for nearly all of the offerings through our connections and relationships from growers and producers in California, Washington, Oregon and Colorado.”

Woodworth was recently awarded two silver and one bronze medals for his wine entries in the 2013 WineMaker International Amateur Wine Competition, the largest wine competition of its kind in the world. Woodworth’s silver medals were awarded in the categories of Sauvignon Blanc and Other Red Vinifera Blends. His bronze medal was awarded in the category of Other Red Vinifera Varietals. This year’s competition included a record 4,564 entries and involved 2,282 total judging hours based on the UC Davis 20-point scale evaluating appearance, aroma, taste, aftertaste and overall impression. Entrants represented all 50 states, 8 Canadian provinces and 9 countries in total. Based on the pedigree of Woodworth’s wine-making skills and national awards, the Catriona Cellars label is clearly destined for greatness.

Catriona Cellars is a winery in downtown Monument, Colorado. The winery features a tasting room, café, private dining for 8 in our historic cellar and additional al fresco dining area for small to medium-sized events.
