Celebrate Recovery at East Marion Baptist Church

Celebrate Recovery at East Marion Baptist Church is not a recovery group that deals with discipleship; we are a discipleship group that deals with recovery.

We begin with discipleship because the root cause of all “hurts, habits, and hang-ups" is sin. This includes our sins against God, our sins against ourselves, our sins against others and the sins of others against us. The path of discipleship is how we recover.

The purpose of Celebrate Recovery at East Marion Baptist Church is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the 8 recovery principles found in the Beatitudes (Mathew 5:1-12) and in the 12 steps to recovery.

This experience allows us to "be changed." We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God's healing grace to solve life problems.

By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program, we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ.
