TEAP-C is a service unit of the College of Education (CoE) at Central State University (CSU). TEAP-C steers pre-education students through the teacher education admission process. Students who wish to become licensed teachers enter the University as pre-education students and must complete the admission process before entering education candidate status.
State and national accrediting agencies expect CSU teacher education to establish admission standards and criteria. CoE’s admission process helps ensure that candidates are adequately prepared to become highly qualified standard-bearers of the teaching profession. Candidates cannot move forward to take upper level courses or do student teaching until they can demonstrate designated proficiencies.
Pre-education students are expected to be admitted by the end of the first semester of the sophomore year.
