Centre for Dance & the Performing Arts

Our studio has been local 21 years to the Winter Garden area boasting both quality dance training while maintaining a tradition of community. The Director and Owner is a professor at the University of Central Florida, a Registered Dance Educator, has a B.F.A. and M. A. in Dance Performance and is currently working of her dissertation for her PhD. In addition she is a member of the N.D.E.O. and F.D.E.O., a former winner of the National Dance Educator of the Year award, and is a Fellow of the B.A.T.D., among her many other credentials. Other faculty includes Eva DeLuigi, a former member of the National Junior Ballet and National Ballet Company of Caracas, Venezuela, Claire Brown (Theater Graduate of NYU), Kathryn Brugal, former student at CDPA and Graduate of Boston Conservatory in Vocal Performance, Lisa Backovsky our Cheer Dance instructor, and Karen Roper, Certified Jazzercise Instructor and pursuing a Masters in Education. Additionally, our students from a young age begin a program for student teaching and our Junior and Senior high school students have the opportunity for student teaching. Our studio has two major performances In His Name We Dance, which takes place in December, and our Annual Dance Showcase in June. In addition to this our students are active both in the community and abroad having traveled to many states and countries because of dance opportunities.
