Charleston Department of Public Safety

The Charleston DPS provides both police and fire protection for the City of Charleston, MO. In addition to this, we provide fire protection to the northern part of Mississippi County and the southern part of Scott County under contract with the Rural Fire District. The Charleston DPS is the 911 call center for the north half of Mississippi County and provides dispatch services for the Mississippi County Rescue Squad, the Bertrand Volunteer Fire Department and the Wyatt Volunteer Fire Department.
