We believe that learning is an interactive process. Children are best served by an environment that allows active exploration of materials and people relevant to the child’s own life experiences.
The director, in conjunction with staff, teachers, and aides, will plan and execute a curriculum based on freedom of choice, balanced with specific learning activities with the goals of stimulating curiosity, enhancing learning, promoting independent thinking and a positive self-concept.
The corporation operates as a non-profit parent cooperative. The Board of Directors is made up of the parent members who serve in a supervisory and advisory capacity to the staff, and determine policy and procedure for the cooperative. All parents will be encouraged to actively participate in all aspects of the program.
We believe that parent participation develops a partnership between home and school that fosters a greater consistency and stability for children. Parental involvement creates an environment that is an extension of the home, rather than a substitute for it.
