Founded in 1966, Chippewa Nature Center is a non-profit environmental education organization, open year-round with FREE daily admission. Our 1,200 acres is comprised of woodlands, wetlands, fields and rivers with 15 miles of trails to explore. Facilities include a state-of-the art Visitor Center and reconstructed 1870s Homestead Farm, complete with log cabin, barns and outbuildings, log schoolhouse and maple sugarhouse. We also operate an on-site Nature Preschool for 3- and 4-year old students during the school year. A plethora of programs are offered throughout the year for all ages, including story hours, guided hikes, Homestead Sundays and many field trips including kayaking, birding, snowshoeing and more.
