Chocolate Chair

Chocolate Chair ™ was founded by Esra Jung/Susan Park and established its first store in 2009 in Santa Clara as Café Milan serving shaved ice, coffee and other specialty drink. Shaved ice, a popular desert concept in Asia was first of its kind introduced in America by our shop and which followed soon by many others.

Due to its popularity, Cafe Milan expanded to other area in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Buena Park in 2013 and changed its name and incorporated as “Chocolate Chair ™ ”. At the same time, Liquid Nitrogen ice cream was added as a new and main menu of the Chocolate Chair ™ .

Liquid Ice Cream is a new concept to make an instance ice cream which is made instantly as the liquid nitrogen is applied to ice cream ingredient. We use Straus brand ice cream base which is organic and most gourmet ingredient. Chocolate Chair ™ was the first ice cream shop in Los Angeles area to use Nitrogen and the second shop in Northern California next to Smitten.

In March 2016, Chocolate Chair ™ launched another hit product called
“Dragon Breath ™ ”, which is a Korean pop cereal with liquid nitrogen applied, a new invention and first of its kind in America. This item was so sensational that ever since it is introduced, people started to line up a whole block and waited 20-30 minutes to get a hand on this products.

ABC TV, NTV from Japan, UNIVISION TV, San Francisco Chronicle Newspaper had visited the store to film the story.
