My goal is to help women have the birth they desire, which is different for everyone. Most women contact me because they want a natural birth and few women are having them at hospitals these days. Plenty of suggestions and support can help make that happen. I am realistic about the fact that sometimes women want or need interventions, and can help make those decisions and give support throughout them. I believe that birth can be joyful work, and all women can have a positive birth experience.

I am a middle aged wife and mom of five young adult children. I have been supporting women in pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding for over 20 years. My faith as a Christian guides my work but I have comfortably served women of other faiths, and those with no particular beliefs. My doula certification is with DONA. I was trained as a Lactation Specialist by UC San Diego's Gini Baker, IBCLC. My Child Birth Education certification is through Cascade Christian Childbirth Association.

My doula fee is $400 which includes an informational meeting to introduce myself and give you the opportunity to ask questions and see if you feel we can work well together. Two prenatal and one postnatal meetings are also part of my service. You would have unlimited access to me for questions and concerns through phone and e-mail. At the time of the birth I would labor with you at home until you are ready to go to the hospital. I stay with you through the labor and birth as well as an hour or more postpartum, until you are comfortable with breastfeeding, settled, ready for family time.
