Bishop William F. Hart, Jr. is a native Washingtonian. A decorated serviceman, Bishop Hart has served more than 20 years in the United States Armed Forces; with two years as a staff sergeant in Korea for the United States Army, and then as a Flight Engineer in the U.S. Air Force. Upon retiring from his Armed Forces career, Bishop Hart began a celebrated career with the federal government, specifically, the U.S. Department of Interior for 29 years.
Bishop Hart received the call to ministry more than 40 years ago. Bishop Hart married the beloved Dorothy Mae Hart in 1959 and they had three children together. They were married for 38 wonderful years until God called First Lady Dorothy Hart home to Glory. He began his ministry and became the Pastor of Victory Church of God located in Buffalo, NY from 1971 to 1974. Afterwards, God called Bishop to a higher plain and gave him a vision for the Christian Tabernacle Church of God (CTC). Bishop Hart, then Reverend Hart, founded Christian Tabernacle in June of 1974 where he served as Pastor. In 1993 God called him to a higher office and he was consecrated as a Bishop under the leadership of Archbishop Naomi Durant and the College of Bishops. This was truly a joyous time for Bishop Hart and the Christian Tabernacle family.
October 29, 2010 Bishop William F. Hart Jr. appointed his son Elder Kevin T. Hart Sr. as the Interim Pastor.
