The Dan Prete Basketball Camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of the game of basketball to boys and girls of all levels between the ages of 6 and 17. Our camp emphasizes individual skills, fundamentals, team strategy, and team play all within a positive teaching and learning environment that is surrounded by fun. Our focus will be on individual improvement, sportsmanship, teamwork, work ethic, and leadership skills.
Dan Prete has over 20 years of coaching experience. He has coached and developed 42 Division I scholarship athletes and 5 NBA players - Kevin Durant, Linas Kleiza, Greivis Vasquez, Terrence Ross, and Justin Anderson. During his time as the Associate Head Coach at Montrose Christian they were Nationally ranked for all 12 seasons, were the 2010-2011 ESPN National High School Basketball Champions, and were ranked #1 in the Washington Post High School rankings in 2003, 2006, 2009, and 2011. He has over 19 years of summer camp experience, including 12 years as the Director of the Stu Vetter Basketball Camp. In the summer of 2013 he traveled to Casablanca, Morocco as a representative for Nike to assist with the TIBU Basketball Camp. He is the current head varsity boys' basketball coach at Saint James School in Hagerstown, MD.
