More about Common Wealth Old City

Common Wealth Old City is a must try in Philadelphia providing upscale, yet casual Low Country, American cuisine in the heart of the Philadelphia historic Old City District.

Open for Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner, we also provide a locally beloved Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary bar with an assortment of accoutrements for a customized morning/afternoon cocktail experience.

Lowcountry cooking, the hallmark of our offered dining experience with strong parallels with New Orleans and Cajun cuisine, is distinguished by it's association with Southern cuisine, but distinct in it's culturally African and regional influences, all products from the rich diversity of the coastal estuaries in the South Carolina lowcountry.

Executive Chef Joe Battista brings his love of Coastal Carolina "low country" cuisine to Old City Philadelphia. He and his team focus on local, fresh, and sustainable products to ensure only the highest level of quality in every dish. The menu highlights foods local to the Charleston SC region including seafood (especially oysters), heirloom grains and fresh produce.

The bar includes a selection of craft beers and 13 rotating drafts, seasonal cocktails, carefully constructed and ever-evolving wine list and a fully stocked bar with an emphasis on bourbons and whiskeys. There are also an assortment of daily drink specials and happy hour discounts as well.

The interior unites the ornate charm of the south with the colonial feel of historic Philadelphia. The exterior also boasts and expanded outdoor seating area!
