Urban Agriculture, or the production of food in and around a urban area by farmers and home growers, is an increasingly prevalent practice in and around cities like Omaha. The Urban Agriculture program at Cooper Farm is an educational partnership connecting the Omaha Home for Boys with UNL Extension and the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture to offer both informal and formal educational programs including real-life, hands on urban farming. Beginning in 2017 we will be offering workshops on a variety of topics to help people grow food in and around urban areas. Beginning in Fall 2017/Spring 2018, we will be offering classes for certificate and associate degrees in Urban Agriculture from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.
