As the only literacy program in Creek County since 1989, Creek County Literacy Program (CCLP) has helped readers of all ages improve their reading skills through one-on-one reading, writing, spelling and math instruction. Learners are assessed annually to measure progress. A Reading Specialist conducts Tutor Training Workshops two-three times a year.
CCLP’s programs include:
Youth Literacy After school tutoring for youth
Caring Grands First and second grade struggling readers tutor weekly with trained volunteer senior citizens
Adult Literacy One-on-one reading, writing, spelling and math instruction
Computer Literacy Workshops providing basic technology skills
Health Literacy Collaborative workshops with a focus on basic health education
Between Friends Adult Learner Book Club Learners improve comprehension skills while reading interesting books and developing new friendships
