20+ years of shoeing experience comes to the Owenton area. Conveniently located to serve Louisville, Lexington, Frankfort and southern Indiana.
Eric was taught by his grandfather to shoe out of necessity. He grew up in NW Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma and worked with his grand father on beef cattle operations throughout the area. When a horse needed care, they provided it. Since starting at that young age he has trimmed and shod horses throughout Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kentucky. When not working as a farrier he spent time working as an outrider in Oklahoma, on several stocker and cow/calf operations as a cowboy and in sale barns. He hauled bucking stock and worked as a pick up man for PRCA rodeos. Throughout all of this time he maintained his skills shoeing his own performance and work horses as well as shoeing for locals and the facilities he worked for. He brings a rich equine background and thorough understanding of the needs the working horse to your farm, barn or ranch.
He and his wife currently train, ride and show Ranch Horses, raise working cow dogs and Boer goats.
