After moving to Corning, NY, we had to look for a place to buy our oils and balsamic vinegars because once you experience what good extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars taste like... you can't go back to the grocery store for these items. We found a source, but we had to travel about 1.5 hours for the products. After one of our trips to the Oil and Vinegar store in June 2012, we decided that Corning would be a great place to open an Olive Oil store. So the process began.

We lived in Dutchess County, NY for the past 40 years. Bob is a Clinical Social Worker and Wendy a Registered Nurse, and although both have extensive experience in administration, opening an Olive Oil store was a whole new experience.

After tasting oils from different specialty stores, we both fell in love with the oils and balsamic vinegars from Veronica Foods - located in California. After completing research on Veronica Foods, we knew they were the importers we wanted to use. Veronica Foods is extremely reputable and imports only the finest extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Veronica Foods is also a pioneer in promoting Ultra Premium extra virgin olive oils which far exceed industry standards for extra virgin olive oil.

We opened the doors to Crystal City Olive Oil, Corning on November 10, 2012, and from the day we opened, we have been received with open arms from the community. People have been thrilled to taste some of the world's best oils and balsamic vinegars. Our products are sold at a reasonable price so everyone can enjoy wonderful oils from all over the world, as well as the finest balsamic vinegars from Modena, Italy.

As a result of the success we experienced in Corning we opened a second location in downtown Historic Owego, NY on Oct. 11, 2013. It has been a wonderful experience introducing customers to a whole new world of the finest extra virgin olive oils and balsamics vinegars.

Educating the consumer on integrating high quality oils in to their everyday lives is one of our primary goals at Crystal City Olive Oil.
