UVU Cultural Envoy Leadership Program

The programs new approach is to introduce culture based learning in its philosophy and mission statement. The approach is to create an awareness for students in theory and praxis that culture and academics are critical in student success. The strategic plan for CELP is to help students develop, understand and refine facets of culture, identity and lived experience to facilitate their development as scholars, leaders, and stewards of a globally interdependent community. CELP participants learn to navigate and negotiate educational, community social spaces by sharing diverse cultural perspectives through opportunities for engagement and outreach in institutional sponsored initiatives.
