Ornaments and gifts from the Curtis Glass Factory are all unique pieces created in the 19th century glass blowing technique known as 'lampwork'.

From a studio in Marshall, Michigan, glass is mouth-blown with precise skill and intricately hand-shaped by the artist Cliff Curtis. In the flame of his torch, glass is heated to a temperature of 2000º until it becomes fluid and molten red. There are then only a few precious seconds before the glass cools to blow, mold and manipulate it into a stunning piece of handmade, original art. Colored glass 'rods' are often used to add detail; encased and fused by the intense heat directly onto or embedded into each ornament.

Each Curtis Glass Factory creation is then individually signed and dated by the artist.

In this world of mass production, the Curtis family-run studio offers completely handmade selections that are sure to become treasured keepsakes or gifts.
