DEBBIE ROGERS - School Director / Dance Company Founder - Director

Dance Company & Recreational Division

Mrs. Rogers has been teaching dance since the young age of 15 when she was asked to take on her first local choreography job for the Broadway hit musical "Cabaret." From there her interest and involvement grew with local theater as she danced in and choreographed many shows throughout the area such as "Guys & Doll's,", "The King and I,", "The Pajama Game,", "South Pacific," Damn Yankees," and "Gypsy" just to name a few. Her training began with a local studio with Tom O'Steen. As her love of dance grew she spent every day and every weekend training. She was the first student in the Penn Hills School District at the time to receive special permission for early release to attend Point Park's Dance Program where she spent 4 years, 5-6 days a week in the pre-professional program earning college credit. This was an exciting time for Mrs. Rogers as well as for Pittsburgh as the newly formed Pittsburgh Ballet Theater was just created under the direction of Nicolas Petrov in which Mrs. Rogers was honored to be a part of. In addition to a busy dance schedule, Mrs. Rogers managed to fit in Musical Theater classes, acting classes, voice lessons and still perform in events in Western PA. Her summers were spent living and training in New York City under the direction of some of the worlds notable dance / theater all time greats! After attending Point Park University majoring in dance, her love of teaching was greater than her need to perform, thus Rogers School of Dance opened.

JULIA COXON - Dance Company & Recreational Division Instructor, Dance Company Chief Choreographer & Dance Company Assistant Director

Julia began her dance training at the age of 3 with Rogers School of Dance. She also trained with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater School where she danced in the "Nutcracker" in various student rules at the Benedum Center for the Arts with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater company members. Starting at the age of 12 she spent her summers training at summer intensives in Ohio, New York, and PA. At the age of 16 she auditioned for her first professional job. At the age of 16 she packed her bags in her little blue car and was off to perform as a dancer / singer in "American Jukebox" on a 6 month contract with Busch Gardens, VA. After her return from VA, and a year of nursing an injury Julia auditioned with over 1,000 other hopefuls in New York City in hopes of being represented by the BLOC Dance Agency in New York City. 3 months later, Julia packed her bags, hoped on a train and moved to New York City where she was signed with the BLOC Dance Agency. From there her career in the commercial dance arena took off. She appeared in many industrials in New York, music video's, TV, instructional video's with Broadway Dance Center, assistant to the dancers for the Macy's Day Parade, assistant at dance workshops to Frank Hatchett jazz icon from Broadway Dance Center and Starpower, Debbie Wilson of Broadway Dance Center choreographer's demo, and much more.
