The history of Dave & Dave Recording Studios. A long, long time ago ... 1973, our founder, then a Top 40 Radio Personality for almost a decade, Dave Sebastian Williams, landed on-the-air in L.A. at the #1 rated, 93/KHJ and in a short time was signed as a Voice Over Actor by Don Pitts of the Charles H Stern Agency. By 1978, having moved to Ten-Q Radio and 102.7 KIIS FM when Agents, Don Pitts, Dean Parker and Noel Rubaloff secured an opportunity for Dave to be the Announcer for a TV Game Show … No, Not on TV, in run-throughs hoping to be picked-up. It was months and months of run-throughs for the Networks (only 3 at the time), TV Station Groups, Financiers and Distributors. The Game Show was presented in hotel rooms, offices, homes, comedy clubs and wedding halls with various Hosts and still, Dave announcing. Finally, after 2 full-blown Pilots and many changes, “Face The Music” hosted by Ron Ely got picked up. With half-year taping schedules, Dave needed a place to record his own VOs and hangout so he decided to open a Recording Studio in Hollywood near the KTLA Lot where “Face” was to tape. At this time, 1 Dave wasn’t enough so (SEBastian NETwork), SebNet Recording Studios & offices were designed, built and opened at 7033 Sunset. By the mid '80s, “Face” was off-the-air and Dave was searching to be more creative. The Studios and offices were sold to TeleTalent and our Dave had partnered with another Dave forming Dave & Dave to Record, Shoot, Direct and Produce TV and Radio Commercials for great clients and products nationwide. It was an exciting time for our Dave. Dave & Dave, the Production Company, ultimately shifted to a singular owner, Dave Sebastian Williams, and continued as Dave took himself off-the-radio in 1997 with the passing of 2 of his colleagues and idols, The Real Don Steele and Robert W Morgan, with whom he worked at K-EARTH 101. With the advent of Digital Recording and the urging of a new partner, former Talent Agent and now his wife, Terri Williams, by 1998 Dave & Dave had morphed from a Home Studio to a boulevard space with offices, iMac Graphic Design Department and 1 Recording Studio. Their credibility as publishers of the Voice Over Resource Guide since 1988 positioned their Design Department and Studio to soon became a booming success. In early 2007, our Studio's location and the entire block was in the process of being sold out from under us. By that summer, with the immeasurable knowledge and support of Senior Engineer, Bryan Showalter it was the time to move and GROW-UP, just UP the block and across the street. Now, with 3 Studios in our current location, its a complete Audio Post Production Facility with ISDN, 7 Pit Foley, ADR, Source-Connect, Digital Phone Patch, Recording, Directing, Sweetening, Mixing, Mastering and Miracles. All the while, as a Voice Over Actor, Dave Sebastian Williams kept himself gainfully employed. by hundreds of wonderful Producers, lending his Voice to 1,000s of their TV. Radio Spots & Promos, many, as well, On-Camera and he enjoyed a smattering of roles in TV Shows and Movies. He even announced for the NBA Clippers during their first 6 years in Los Angeles ('84-'90) and was the sole Facilitator of his own Voiceover Workshop for 18 years.
