More about DCH Health System

DCH Health System includes three hospitals – DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Northport Medical Center and Fayette Medical Center. Each has won national recognition for quality care and for being great places to work. Together, the hospitals have 848 acute care beds, with 122 nursing home beds in Fayette, about 4,700 employees, 375 volunteers and more than 300 medical staff.

DCH Regional Medical Center, the flagship hospital, operates specialty units for pediatrics, orthopedics, cancer and cardiology, as well as the region’s most advanced (and busiest) trauma center and ICU.

Northport Medical Center is a full-service community hospital offering patients a wide range of services and specialties. It houses the DCH Rehabilitation Pavilion for patients who suffer from neurological or orthopedic disorders, and North Harbor Pavilion for inpatient adult and geriatric psychiatric services.

Both hospitals in Tuscaloosa County have family-oriented childbirth and intensive care for critically ill newborns.

The Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center offers the latest in chemotherapy and radiation therapy under one roof. The Manderson Cancer Center is a certified member of MD Anderson Cancer Network®, and it is the only cancer center in Alabama accredited by the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Other milestones include:
• DCH opened a new electrophysiology lab, where doctors can diagnose and treat problems with the complex electrical system of the heart.
• DCH renovated and expanded the NICU at DCH Regional Medical Center, and thanks to the generosity of the community, purchased advanced OmniBeds for the NICUs at the Regional Medical Center and Northport Medical Center.
• DCH offers the community a range of diagnostic and specialty services, including Emergency Departments and Intensive Care Units.
• DCH has joined with several partners to form Alabama Community Care, a not-for-profit regional care organization that will meet the Alabama Medicaid Agency’s plan to transform how services are provided to Medicaid recipients.
