The Recreation & Parks Department offers residents of all ages the opportunity to enjoy both active and passive leisure pursuits at Camp Dearborn, Mystic Creek Golf Course & Banquet Center, Robert Herndon's Dearborn Hills Golf Course, Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, Michael A. Guido Theater, Dearborn Ice Skating Center, Jack Dunworth Memorial Pool complex and five other outdoor neighborhood pools, Hemlock Cabin, Hemlock Shelter, Ford Field Picnic Shelters, 20 ballfields, nine soccer fields (which includes two fields at Camp Dearborn) and 43 neighborhood parks and tot lots. Public school gyms, pools and playing fields are used to provide additional sporting venues for volleyball, basketball, baseball and youth football.
The Recreation Department continues to cooperate with organizations such as the Dearborn Hockey Association, Dearborn Figure Skating Club, Dearborn Baseball Association, Dearborn Youth Football and Cheerleading Association, Dearborn Community Chorus, Dearborn Symphony Orchestra, Dearborn Youth Symphony, Motor City Brass Band, Vanguard Voices, Dearborn Soccer Club, Dearborn Recreation Dolphin Swim Team, Dearborn Track Club, Dearborn Community Tennis Association, Metro Basketball Association, Jr. Pro Basketball, Dearborn Community Fund, and Dearborn Community Arts Council. which have provided the opportunity for many young people to participate in programs at a reduced cost to the taxpayer.
