I currently live in Louisville, Ky. For the longest time, video games, comic books and card games have been a very big part of my life. Louisville is a fairly big city, and it certainly is not lacking in shops that cater to those interests. However, the closest comic book store is over a twenty minute drive from my house. While that may not seem like much, it does not make those outlets easily accessible to most younger adults, and makes it a hassle for anyone who wants something close to home.
I have always dreamed of owning my own shop. I want a place that the community around me will grow to love. Somewhere that you can stop in, pick up a few packs of cards, maybe stay for a couple hours and play a game or two. I would start small, keeping a selection of comic books, Magic the Gathering cards, Pokemon Cards, maybe even some Sports Cards (If there is interest). From there I would judge and adjust accordingly based on the interest of the community.
We will hold weekly tournaments at first, before hopefully moving to several nights a week. This will give adults and kids alike the chance to meet new people and make lasting friendships, while enjoying a hobby together.
For the moment this is only a dream for me. I lack the funding to give up my full-time job and pursue this venture. I appreciate any help and hopefully, one day this will become a reality.
