Dr. Maritza Baez

Maritza is a Buffalo native who grew up in the city. Community has always been important to her. She is especially thankful to the Buffalo Prep community, of which he has been a part for the past 24 years, first as a student, then as an advocate. It was through Buffalo Prep that Maritza was able to realize her dreams of becoming a family physician. First, she was awarded a full scholarship to the Nichols School as a part of the Buffalo Prep scholarship. She then went on to graduate from Yale University with a Bachelor's of Science in 3 years instead of 4, and finally earned a full scholarship to return to Buffalo and earn her medical degree.



For the past 25 years, Maritza has been giving back to her community. Among other activities, she has volunteered for the City of Buffalo Youth Engaged in Service, given inspirational talks and mentorship to students on the elementary, high school, college and graduate school levels, and served on various community-wide boards. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees at the Enterprise Charter School, where she is also Board Secretary.



In 2013, Maritza became an Affiliate with Pangea Organics, a natural skincare brand with which she had been a long standing customer. She was already volunteering her time with HealthTap to answer medical and skincare questions and had even earned the ranking of #1 in the USA out of over 65,000 doctors in the field of skincare on the site. In her daily medical practice, she counsels her patients on overall health & wellness, including how to care for their largest organ - the skin.



With Pangea Organics, Maritza found another way to connect with her community. At private community-based events, she educates others on skin health & gives them the option of using Pangea products as part of their skin wellness routine. These events are not only informative, but they are fun! Guests connect with themselves and each other as they take time to pamper themselves with high quality, certified organic, non-toxic, all natural, cruelty-free skin and body products. Guests have the options of treating themselves to a rejuvenating self-applied facial, hand treatment, or foot treatment. Maritza also teams up with other community members to offer massage therapy or other services using the Pangea products.
