Drop cloth Art Studio

Our aim is to work with children and adults of different ages with the aim of creating a community of artist that grow with the studio as we grow as an art studio in the community.
Our approach is to develop curriculums that will help children with the cognitive skills they require to be successful in both academics and personal projects. Young people who participate in art are more likely to be:
• Recognized for academic achievement
• 4 times more likely to participate in a math and science fair 3 times more likely to win an award for school attendance
• Participate in youth groups nearly four times as frequently
• Read for pleasure nearly twice as often
• Perform community service more than four times as often
We will also cater to young adults and adults looking to gain a better understanding of traditional and digital arts. Or high school Students looking to develop art portfolios to gain entrance into a university or private art college. Finally we will also work with professionals looking to find ways to push their skill level or learn something new to help develop a new skill.
Again our aim is to promote art and create a positive environment for artist of all ages to express their creativity.
As an educator I have over 10 years of experience teaching animation and game art courses both in private colleges, and community colleges in the Los Angeles area. As a professional I have worked as a JR Animator, Animator, Layout Artist, Character Designer, and Game Developer. I hold a BFA in media Arts Animation, and a MFA in VFX Animation. I look forward to the opportunity of working with all of you and help push your work to the next level.
Kids classes: 10 dollars per each 45 min class- (5 week courses)

1. Basic kids art classes - fundamentals

This class focuses on teaching kids all aspects of being creative with different mediums.
It will give your child an opportunity to explore and have fun with painting, drawing and sculpting.

2. Basic character drawing class (learn to draw your favorite characters with the use of fun shapes)

This class focuses on teaching children the art of character design through the use of shapes and colors. By introducing a child to abstract shape design they can begin to understand the basics of drawing characters.

3. Story book

This class focuses on your child's imagination and helps them develop short story ideas based on creative thinking and writing.

5. Kids sculpting class

This class focuses on basic sculpting for young children including the 4 main sculpting components. In five weeks your child will learn the art of sculpting by developing three/five fun sculpting projects.

6. Kids flip book class ( intro to animation)

This class focuses on teaching kids the art of animation through the art of creating a flip book and learning how a series of drawings can create a short animated scene.

7. Kids painting class

This class will help students get a better grasp on painting which was introduced in the basic drawing class.


Adult classes:
20 dollars an hour 4 to 8 week courses (2 hour min class)

1. Drawing fundamentals
This class focuses on helping you the student get a good understanding of basic design skills that will allow you to develop a good foundation and apply it to your understanding of traditional art.

3. Still life drawing
This class is aimed at helping beginners get a good grasp of shape, gesture, and form while understanding how to apply it to developing the fundamental skills needed to begin drawing the human figure.
This class will also be a studio class for advanced artist wanting to strengthen a skill level or for creative practice.

4. Perspective drawing
The perspective class will help you get a good foundation on perspective for layout and design.

5. Story development
This class is aimed at helping the students get a better understand of story development for animation and games.

6. Character design
This class is aimed at teaching the art of character design from the perspective of form and shape. At the end of the course the student will have a good understanding of how to manipulate abstract shapes to develop characters for any medium.

8. Portfolio development for high school and college students
The portfolio class is aimed at helping students at the high school and college level develop portfolios in the Animation and Game art industry. The aim is to develop a reel or flatbook that will showcase the students strengths as an artist.

***9. Life drawing classes will also be available to help students improve on anatomy drawing skills. (Adults only - younger students would need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian)
15 dollars per class = 3 hour session
