The Eating Disorder Center of Montana (EDCMT) is the only eating disorder treatment center of its kind in Montana and surrounding areas. It is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) level of care that provides 9-12 hours per week of therapeutic programming for patients suffering with eating disorders. Treatment at EDCMT is tailored for each individual including: individual psy- chotherapy, family therapy, nutrition counseling, meal support groups, process groups, art therapy group, and multi-family forums. These services are provided by a team of licensed psychotherapists (LCPCs and LCSWs) and registered dietitians trained to address the complex issues underpinning eating symptoms. The program is structured to treat adolescents and adults as well as the fami- lies of those who are struggling with eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. The EDCMT works closely with outside medical providers to coordinate care and for the purposes of stabilization. The program is designed as a step-down for patients returning from residential care to facilitate successful transition back to the community and is also appropriate for those who require more intensive treatment to prevent admission to higher levels of care; Partial Hospitalization (PHP), residential, or inpatient treatment.
