The Eden Fire Company was founded in 1921 after a large fire in an abandon dairy. At that point the company consisted of 75 members and a single Model T pumper. Eden has continued to grow of the years and currently houses an engine, pierce tractor drawn ariel and two squads. The membership is made up of live-in firefighters, duty crew, come from home responders, along with part-time career personnel.
The department responds on average to 1,100 calls per year to include fire, rescue and QRS making EDEN one of the busiest departments in all of Lancaster County. Truck 204 is recognized by the state fire commissioner as an advanced level rescue service while Engine 204 is a first due asset as part of the South Central Taskforce Decon Strike Team. While providing services across all of Manheim Township Eden firefighters also provide services to various surrounding municipalities.
