HOW OUR MILK IS PRODUCED

We maintain a herd of Mostly Registered Nubians and Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats, with a few crosses, Saanens and Alpines mixed in.
Although we are not yet certified Organic (we are in the process but this takes time, sometimes years) we strive to raise our girls as close to nature as possible. They are mostly grass fed, ranging on a irrigated pasture at all times. They are fed Alfalfa, Beet pulp, and Fodder (grain sprouts) on the milk stand. Occasionally a doe will be fed a small amount of oats, barley or wheat at milking time, IF her body condition is low and she needs a bit of a caloric boost. This usually occurs right after a doe kids, giving birth takes alot out of a girl!
